FAITH CONNECTOR COMMUNITY ADVOCACY

Help connect. Restore hope.

Become a trained Community Advocate who listens,  builds relationships, and helps neighbors connect with local resources and support they need.

No one should have to navigate hardship alone.

When someone needs help, knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming. Services may be scattered across different nonprofits, churches, agencies, and community programs.

Faith Connector trains volunteers from local churches to become trusted Community Advocates. Advocates listen, help identify needs, connect neighbors with appropriate resources, and provide consistent encouragement throughout the process.

A Community Advocate is a trained volunteer who helps a neighbor understand available options and connect with appropriate community support.

What does a Community Advocate do?

Be the hands. Be the hope.

Our advocacy training prepares volunteers to serve with compassion, dignity, and wisdom. Rather than trying to solve every problem themselves, Community Advocates learn how to:

  • Listen with compassion
Give neighbors space to share their circumstances, concerns, and goals.

  • Build a trusted relationship
Offer consistent encouragement while honoring each person’s dignity and choices.

  • Help identify needs
Work with the neighbor to clarify immediate concerns and longer-term priorities.

  • Navigate local resources
Help locate suitable nonprofits, churches, programs, and support services. Visit The Connector Portal.

  • Make meaningful connections
Help the neighbor understand next steps and connect with the appropriate organization.

  • Follow up
Check in, encourage progress, and help address barriers when appropriate.
